The Consequence of Choice
In our nation today there is so much noise going on surrounding politics, religion, and other worldly affairs. So, I found a quiet place to seek guidance on what I should do from the one source I’ve known to always be true; and it went like this.
My thought was: What If someone you loved were murdered, executed, convicted for a crime that they didn’t comment and sentenced to death; or What if an innocent child were struck by a stray bullet? What would you think about the perpetrator?
Me: Lord, we have people making claims and promises to gain popular approval whether those claims and promises are good for the many or only good for the few, who should I believe?
HIM: “Believe this, politics are manmade. Each side believes in punishing the guilty, but one side believes in punishing the innocent-unborn (you choose). One side believes marriage is between a man and a woman, the other side believes it can convince everyone that we can do anything we want (you choose). One side says they are pro-life, and the other side says that they are pro-choice (you choose). Well, I have given to all the gift of choice, but I made it clear in My Word that “I put before you this day life and death blessing and cursing; therefore, choose life!” (You Choose). When you stand on My Word your foundation will not be shaken, but when you trust in a man and his ideals, and you vote for them you will also stand with them. You will be removed from a firm foundation to a shaky platform that changes with popular opinion (You choose). They are passing laws to murder the innocent and unborn. Laws that under mind the sanctity of marriage between one man and one woman, laws that oppress the already oppressed. And they all stand in front of many witnesses and place their hands on my Holy Word as they take an oath for office. The same Holy Word that they have systematically removed from the schools, removed from most every public place, and removed from many of your hearts. There are consequences to your choices, truly I say to you choose wisely.”
Me: Both sides think they are right, and they stand on their convictions. I believe the Word of God is Truth and will still be standing when all else falls.
Him: “Why do you call me Lord and don’t do what I say? You hypocrites Isaiah spoke well when he said, “they honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.” “I say again I put in front of you, life and death blessing and cursing.” The choice is yours!
